Desert Layers

Start of a new year and the hope that always comes around that time of year for change and growth. I went on a solo hike in the San Tan Park. The sky was bright blue, and I struggled to get satisfactory images. Reaching the peak of the hike I saw in the distance the sun setting, and although there was a speck of cloud cover, I zoomed in and found this composition. I had recently purchased my first zoom lens, and seeing this scene was a miracle of technology. I left the hike bewildered, believing the secret to happiness was a telephoto lens.
